Webcomic Book Club Reviews by Cave

It's been a while since I last read Megatokyo, but I remember it quite clearly.

The art of this comic has always been one of the better ones. Hand-drawn and sketchy, but it works well. You'll always be able to recognize the artist's works anywhere.

And...that's erm... the good part...

The other good part is well... the beginning of the comic. When the Rodney guy was around writing the story; it flourished. Period. It was just a great, exciting, funny comic to read. Then he left and the story basically became a bunch of typical anime chicks surrounding the main character.

In the end, I am very disappointed that something so good is completely ruined, in my honest opinion. I just point and laugh at it nowadays. It is... failure.

Here's a place I haven't been recently... ^^;;

ART:

The drawing style is very very nice looking. It looks professional. The coloring looks a bit flat, but that doesn't seem to degrade it at all.

The panels were very well done and were not confusing at all -- something that seems to be a trend in many webcomics >.>;;

Text/Dialogue:

I liked a lot how the squares were done up for Digger's thoughts. Though I did find it annoying after about two bubbles the word emphasises. There had to be one *every* sentence. I can see how stressing one word over another can be important, but you have to be careful to not overdo it so much.

Characters/Plot:

Both seemed a bit... cliched... It seems like a mob-gangster thing. Though, I wouldn't necessarily expect to see one of them smiling, laughing, and eating candy in a tutu. Angel is the average "I'm a woman, thus I get my way" person. They always tend to annoy me. Digger and his thoughts were intriguing throughout the story, though.

The plot, though, was pretty predictable. The typical girl sleeps with guy, has guy kill off her husband, kills the guy, steals his money. Though, there were some surprise twists. I didn't see, at the end, how Angel tried tricking Goodis like she did Red and Digger coming at all.

I also enjoyed the little jokes that were put in it. =D Though, the overall-ness was given a quite serious nature. The ending also amused me thoroughly.

I give Gravedigger a 7 out of 10.

Ah... Mac Hall... It brings me back to memories of Thursday when I read the entire thing in one day so that I could talk about it now...

It's truly a splendid comic done with absolutely beautiful computer graphics! The layout of each page is very easy to follow; not confusing at all like some comics can be. Plus, it's pretty easy to tell each character apart.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I absolutely adore Drew... Hell, it only took me 163 comics to remember that his name WAS Drew! I just love those evil-glowy-red eyes that he has! simply and purely 3vil!

The comic itself is hilarious. Surprisingly, I only have 56 out of the 176 comics that I read saved...

I give this comic a ten out of ten... mmmm... pizzzaaaa...
